Smart TMS is the largest provider of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation treatment in the UK and Ireland.
Our growing network of clinics, staffed by experienced practitioners, has been helping hundreds of patients since our first clinic opened in London in 2015.
You will have a video call with a Smart TMS clinician and answer questions about your history and symptoms. If TMS is recommended for you, you will then receive a personalised treatment plan.

During your first treatment, we identify the correct magnet strength and coil position (we call this process mapping) to ensure your safety. You can use your own non-metallic earphones.
Relax, listen to music or read a book while the TMS device delivers its magnetic pulses to your brain. After your treatment, you are free to drive yourself home and return to your daily tasks without delay.

Patients with Major Depressive Disorder (over 14 years old) are candidates for TMS treatment. The only reason you would not be suitable is if you have magnetic material, including cochlear implants, in your head or neck.
The great thing about this procedure is the ability to resume your normal daily routine, including driving, right after the procedure is done! Some may experience mild scalp discomfort where the magnetic stimulation was located. This is normal and typically lessens as treatments progress. If needed, this can be addressed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Typically, patients notice improvement within 2-4 weeks of treatment. This varies for each patient.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy is a life-changing breakthrough treatment for depression sufferers, and has many benefits over prescribed medications to help treat your depression.
TMS Therapy was approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in 2015. It’s a non-invasive therapy that uses magnetic pulses to stimulate and improve the area of the brain that controls emotions and regulates mood.
